Ready or Not…

Not ready. nope.

She got teeth! Her two bottom teethers came in at around 7 1/2 months. {She is yet to bite me –hallelujah – cross our fingers}

{this was when they were baby buds coming through} {ps it is crazy how one day they are nonexistent then BAM they are there!}

So what do you ask am I not ready for? {since the teeth already came} Her to walk! I know my life will completely change once her mobility increases. Right now I have a roller and a scooter/pivoter. I know there are MANY fun new pros to having a walking babe like more independence & their happiness being able to get to things — but that makes me have to be chasing her nonstop. I am excited but fearful.

This little lovable monster loves to screech, holler, hum and blabber 🙂 and I love it. She is ever so curious. I can see her little brain working always.

She cracks me up daily with her silly face expressions and has started fake laughing or making a scrunched nose smile.

She is eating solid foods and loving it. Sweet potatoes are her fav. She likes oatmeal now {had to try it a couple times}. She loved oranges once upon a time — now she isn’t a fan. grapes, avocado, asparagus, prune baby food, apple sauce, crackers etc.

We had a little trip down to STG while Ty was out of town. Enjoyed the sunny weather. She got herself some Vitamin D and some Grandma Gibson time & Grandpa Gibson & Sydney time! She rocks that babykini like a model 🙂

We have gone on a hike with Lex. I did some training with Victoria. Had a nice walk to Bridal Veil Falls with Ty. Celebrated Provo’s Birthday @ DevMountain with the Mayor.

Also monumental moment {because its few & far between when I even see her} we got to have Avyn meet her Great Grandma Gibson who is 95 years old!

Now I am 8 months going on 8 years! JK that isn’t funny. But she is growing up before my eyes. I can see that sassy sweet spirit coming out. She is going to be incredibly independent one of these days and I am gonna cry about it I just know it. I play dress up with her now ALL the time because I have a feeling she is going to be defiant in letting me do so later…

Mom putting me in U attire to make dad crazy 🙂 but he still loves her and buys her pretty flowers.

I have a blessed life. grateful for it and all those in it. happy mama.

It’s Been A Minute…

Well looks like I slack again. I haven’t posted since FEBRUARY. A LOT has happened since then.

Update:

 Scott had a 4 generation Gibson photo taken with Grandpa Raymond, Robert, Scott & Nicholas…and Grandma 🙂

Valentines day with my hubs is the best. I can always count on that one day a year to be waited on. He makes me dinner and makes it ONE of the best days of the year {next to our Anniversary & my birthday :)} This year he went with authentic mexican tacos. Flowered me with love and gifts. I did the 14 days of Valentines for him. It was fun. And he gave me one of the sweetest notes. I love his homemade cards more than any Hallmark card out there. Short and very sweet.

Went to St. George. Twice or more? Who is counting? First was to get our bikes. Bike rides in STG in the spring are seriously the most divine things next to those sugar cookies I live to eat when I am down there 🙂 and also for Ty’s mission reunion. It is fun to listen to all his old companions and mission friends reminisce. Tried us some swig. I don’t drink pop but BOY I “swigged” that Dirty DP down like it was my job 😉

Fun times with friends is always a must. Matt & Lex. Devin. The Heatons.

We even had our first Cabella’s trip with Papa. Ty was pretty amused. It was lots of fun.

Next STG trip was for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis concert!!! Which was absolutely amazing. Like no joke. I had my hair in people’s mouths, sweaty armpits and who knows where else….all so I could be in the front section to get some epic pics. Mission accomplished. Never doing that again. Nast. BUT the next day we went to Vegas for some fun. Shopping, sun, tourist walkabouts. Gotta love Vegas….gambling? no we didn’t do that 😉

Weddings. Cousin’s baseball games. Ty using our ottoman & couch cushions to form a chair to be the dealer of our late night black jack games.

Holding Kacee & Sam’s new baby, Hayes.

Celebrating 2 years with the man that brings me the most smiles, laughs and love I could ever imagine. Best 2 years of my life and many more to come. He seriously is my best friend who I can get annoyed of but never want to get rid of. Best decision I ever made. AND he surprised me with Paramore tickets. I nearly cried. {Then Hayley got sick and cancelled the concert…but it was the thought that counts AND the fact that if they come back we will go 🙂 }

Ty graduated! He is no longer a college student. A BYU Business Management Graduate. How proud I am of him. He really is a talented lad. Taught himself a lot of things to better himself with his web design. His artistic brain will always amaze me and top it with his dedication to something. It is impressive. I wish I had his artistic eye for things.

THEN I did the “unbelievable” I cut 10 inches off of my hair. Oh boy! And it was kind of a surprise to Ty. But after the initial shock, he ended up liking it. I gave it to Locks for Love. Plus it was time for a little change 🙂

Another Vegas trip with Matt & Lex. We saw the show Kà in Vegas. AMAZING. It was seriously the best stage and acrobatic insanity I have seen thus far in my life. We also went to the show called the Mentalist. That gave our brains a workout the rest of the night. We explored places I have never seen in Vegas. Lots of fun.

Brought Rookie to STG with us for Mother’s Day and to help mama with her Spokes for Hope race. We made her breakfast and promised her a family photo shoot once Lindsey, Scott & Nicholas were back in Utah. It was also fun having mom attend church with us 🙂

Spent time with the hubs and took Rissa on the hike to the Y. Man my legs hurt for days after.

That about sums up the snippets of our life this last few months. I know I will slack again but I hope I can keep up so I can at least put a little more detail into these snippets 🙂

Why I love STG

STG. What is that? Nope not a disease. Just my lazy way of saying St. George. Actually it is a lot of people’s lazy way of saying St. George. Most of those people are from STG 🙂 which gives us the right to call our town whatever we want. Kind of like fat people being able to call themselves fat but when other people do it, it is more frowned upon. (Fat Amy from Pitch Perfect comes to mind. Great movie!)

Ty and I went to St. George a weekend ago. Left Friday after work and the adventure began!

Reasons for loving STG:

1) Spending time with my fam AKA being spoiled for the weekend 🙂

2) Food. Cookies. Eating. ALL the time.

3) The weather

4) Active Adventures

5) TV and being lazy

I realize that 3 & 4 totally contradict one another but it makes complete sense in my books. It has an easy explanation. We always do something active, whether it be a hike, run, bike, gym or race, THEN we top that off with a movie, games or just lounging around together watching The Real Housewives of Miami. This trip was a MIDNIGHT “spooky” 5K with a pre-game dinner & lounge sesh 🙂

The 5K was actually a lot of fun. I guess I legitimately took first place in female overall? The moral of this story is like that of the tortoise and the hare but a little twisted. So don’t run with the sprinters because they run too fast and loop twice instead of being directed on a different loop. Luckily, my mom and I stuck together and went on the right route. Thus why I won. My husby wasn’t so lucky. He decided he wanted to run this 5K as fast as he could. Then it ended up turning into a 7K for him….it was actually very amusing seeing him look mind boggled as to why he was crossing the finish line after me. You live and you learn. haha

I went to the Nook with my mom and later we all went to see the movie, Fun Size. It was alright. Funny parts but not blog worthy so done with that. Later in the evening, Ty, Sam & I went to my dads to have a Halloween party. We carved pumpkins to enter into their Pumpkin contest (Ty carved ours cuz I am not a legit artist like him). Made caramel apples and had some fun. The contest was judged by one of Sydney’s family friends. Their was awards for the most creative, the spookiest, the most “wicked” BUT the overall winner was……TYLER and I! Whoot whoot! Man it is great having such an artsy husband. Pays off 😉 {He doesn’t cut into the pumpkin as much as he sculpts it into what he wants it to be. This year it was a Shrek/Frankenstein Vampire guy. Shrankenpire 🙂

It really is always so much fun to go down and spend time with my family. Who doesn’t like being spoiled for the weekend. Wish we could stay longer sometimes. (Christmas time we will stay longer!)

And by the end of this trip, this guy was tuckered out….we love to take pics of each other asleep. For some weird reason we find it hilarious to show the other person. {His pics of me asleep are always better. I sleep like a crazy person. Not even embarrassed}
